Program Services

Recurring Projects

As part of our recurring activities, the Genanaw Foundation assists school children in their daily lives. Here are some of the actions the foundation has undertaken for underprivileged children at the Genet Mariam Primary School:

  •        Provided school supplies such as pens, pencils, notebooks, writing and drawing papers, etc. to the children once a year for the past two years, as well as teaching utilities to the teachers.
  •       Provided feminine hygiene dignity kits to girls so they could attend school without fear of being shamed by others.
  •       Supplied raw lunch materials to children, such as pasta, rice, macaroni, tomato sauce, and canned beans, so they can cook and bring ready-to-eat meals to school
  •         Provided school uniforms once a year

Non-recurring Projects

The Genanaw Foundation has undertaken a few program services in the past few years that required a significant investment of funds. These projects were non-recurring and were aimed at helping underprivileged children and underserved communities in Gulo, the Genet Mariam Community. Below is a list of the foundation’s actions for this cause.

  •             We built the Genet Mariam School extension to grade 8. World Vision International built grades 1 through 3. The foundation completed the extension to grade 6 in 2021 and the extension to grade 8 in 2024.
  •              The foundation procured a power transmission transformer for the school and community in 2023 and completed the installation in 2024.
  •              We procured and installed two 1500-gallon water tanks for the school and community.

Support Our Endeavors

The Genanaw Foundation aims to extend its services to neighboring communities facing financial hardships like Genet Mariam. These communities have parents who cannot afford learning materials for their children and girls who lack protective dignity kits. Additionally, these communities and schools lack electricity access, despite the power transmission lines passing through the villages. Please visit our recurring and non-recurring projects pages to learn more about our outreach programs to provide such services. Private donations made the services provided to the Genet Mariam Community and school possible. We need your support to fulfill our pledge to help the neighboring communities. Please click on the “Support Us” button below to donate whatever you can afford and assign your donation to one or more of the planned service programs.
